- Baby wipes
- Disposable diapers
- Tampons and tampon applicators
- Sanitary napkins
- Cotton balls
- Mini or maxi pads
- Condoms
- Cleaning wipes of any kind (even if they say flushable)
- Facial tissue
- Bandages and bandage wrappings
- Grease
Other waste which should never, ever be flushed:
- Automotive fluids
- Paint, solvents, sealants and thinners
- Poisons and hazardous waste
- Unused medications
Disposing of unused medications
The Phoenix Police Department accepts unused medications, both prescription and over the counter at these two locations:
- Phoenix PD, 6180 West Encanto Blvd, Phoenix AZ 85035
- Phoenix PD, 2075 East Maryland Avenue, Phoenix AZ 85016
They do not accept liquids or needles at these locations.
Disposing of hazardous materials
Local hazardous waste events are the place top safely dispose of paints. See the event schedule on the City of Phoenix website here.
Oils are accepted and most oil change facilities and car repair stores.
