Will my yard be dug up?
We have a sewer camera which slides down your sewer line and allows us to see precisely what is going on in your sewer line. Long gone are the days of digging up people’s yards in search of the problem. To learn more about our sewer camera please visit this page on sewer camera inspections in Phoenix.(see more below about digging)
Why do tree roots like sewer lines?
A sewer line with a loose joint or tiny crack is typically a minor problem that nobody would ever notice, but trees do. Warm water and water vapor escapes into the surrounding soil. The tree roots notice this warm, nutritious snack and find it. The roots find the tiny openings in the sewer lines and make their way in to their new home. If you were a tree root you’d do the same thing! If a sewer line has no leak a tree root poses little risk to it.
What kind of tree roots damage sewers?
In Phoenix we see all types of tree roots in sewer lines but the most common is Oleander trees. Oleander roots do not bury too far in to the ground. Sewer pipes can exist near Oleander trees but must be leak free and pass by the root systems underneath.
Repair or replace
We try to keep fees reasonable and use our rooter service and tools to remove any roots that we can and be minimally invasive. That said major tree root damage can collapse sewer lines and result in the need to replacement sewage lines. When replacing sewer lines, the entire line does not always need to be replaced; often just the damaged section can be replaced. If pipes need to be replaced, sections of yard will need to be dug up in order to access the pipes.
We have literally beaten competitor quotes over $5,000 with quotes of $300, so if you are experiencing a sewage backup give us a call.
